How many COVID-19 cases are there in our Teddington area? Each day there is a breakdown of the number of new cases and the number of deaths issued by the Government.

This is also broken down into the various regions of England by Public Health England. In terms of Teddington, the most relevant areas will be Richmond upon Thames and Kingston upon Thames.

Obviously individuals will have interests in other areas too. The link at the bottom provides updated information for the whole of England.

The strong Government guidance for the Easter Weekend, when temperatures are expected to soar to 25 degrees is to:

Stay at Home with these conditions:

  • Only go outside for food, health reasons or work ( but only if you cannot work from home)
  • If you do go out stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people at all times.
  • Wash your hands as soon as you get home.

  • Do not meet others, even friends or family. You can spread the virus even if you don't have symptoms.

Guidance issued by the Metropolitan Police states:

  • If you're concerned about a business or venue that's open and you don't think it should be, please check the guidance.

  • If you're concerned about an individual or a group of people, again, please make sure you've read and understood the guidance on the 'stay at home' measures and what is and isn't a breach before you contact us.

  • We're seeking to resolve situations where people appear to be or are contravening the government advice on physical social distancing and the stay at home measures without resorting to enforcement and issuing fines.

The police add: "Please only tell us about something if you feel there is a significant issue or serious breach of the restrictions."

A spokesperson for TfL also urged people not to use the London Underground. ""With Easter weekend approaching, and good weather predicted, remember our network is only for critical workers making absolutely essential journeys. Our message is simple: stay at home, don't travel, save lives."

This is the message from The Prime Minister's Office:

Stay at home this Easter to protect the NHS and save lives is the latest message to the public from the government in a new campaign to fight coronavirus.

The campaign has been developed to meet the additional pressures of the long Easter weekend where many people typically spend time with family or friends.

New organic and paid-for content will be rolled out across social media, print and outside the home.

The new campaign reinforces the importance of staying at home over Easter, and only leaving your house to buy essentials, to do one form of exercise a day, to travel into work, but only where you cannot work from home, and for any medical or social care need.

If you need to leave your home for these reasons, you should be minimising time spent outside of the house and ensuring you are two metres away from anyone outside of your household.

You should not be visiting friends or family during the long weekend.

A Government spokesperson said: "We understand that people will want to spend time with their friends and families this Easter, and we recognise that we are asking the public to make sacrifices in the fight against this disease.

"Everyone has a role to play in this, and the best way we can protect our loved ones is by staying away this Easter.

"We are at a crucial moment in preventing further transmission of coronavirus, and so it is vital that we continue following the government's guidance to stay at home, protect the NHS, and save lives."
