A flood warning has been issued for the Thames between Putney Bridge and Teddington Weir.

The government flood information service has forecast high tides this afternoon and tomorrow.

River levels are expected to be high as a result of spring tides.

Flooding of low-lying roads and footpaths is expected, which may exist for one to two hours either side of high tide.

Luckily flooding of properties is not expected.

The service forecasts flooding in particular at the towpath below Teddington Lock.

There is a possibility of flooding for Putney Embankmen, Chiswick Mall, Thames Bank at Mortlake , Ranelagh Drive, Friars Lane and Water Lane as well as the Riverside and the Embankment at Twickenham.

The river flow at Teddington Weir is low for this time of year at 37 cubic metres per second and is being closely monitored.
