A family-run restaurant located on Teddington's High Street has been nominated for a prestigious award.

Shambles, which has been in Teddington since 1983, has been nominated for the Italian Best Restaurant Awards 2026.

The nomination is public-led and based on customer votes, "which makes it especially meaningful for us as an independent, family-run restaurant here in Teddington," says Shambles co-owner, Massimo Langella.

Speaking about the nomination, Massimo told Nub News: "We've been part of the local community for over four decades, so to be recognised off the back of guest support, rather than panels or paid entries - feels like a real vote of confidence in what we do day in, day out.

"In recent years, we were also proud to be named Best Family Small Business 2025 (UK), which led to invitations to both Downing Street and the House of Lords as part of the national celebration of independent, family-owned small businesses. That recognition reinforced our belief in staying true to our values of longevity and consistency by putting guests first.

"Our focus has always been on Italian, seasonal cooking, working closely with trusted suppliers around the British Isles and Italy, and creating a relaxed neighbourhood restaurant where people feel genuinely looked after. Being shortlisted alongside so many great Italian restaurants across the UK is an honour in itself."
