RECYCLING bin collections in Teddington will not take place tomorrow (February 18) due to the strong winds that have been forecast for the area.
The Met Office has issued an Amber Weather Warning for London and other UK regions as Storm Eunice approaches, bringing high winds that could reach 80 miles per hour.
In Teddington the gusts are expected to stay at around 30mph - with highs of 40 in the late morning and lunchtime - however, the amber weather warning means there is likely to be significant disruption to travel and potential threats to life from falling debris.
Richmond Council has now announced that for households with Friday bin collections, the blue and black recycling boxes will be picked up on Saturday 19 February instead of tomorrow.
General and garden waste will be collected from 5am but residents should place the bins in their front gardens and not on the roads.
Townmead Road recycling centre will be close for the duration of the day, the Council added.
Earlier today the Council posted advice for residents on preparing for the storm and what to do when it hits.
