TWO of local rugby team Harlequins' outstanding young players trained at Teddington's Lensbury Club this week with the England rugby squad.

Quins fly-half Marcus Smith, 22, and centre Joe Marchant, 25, were put through their paces at a two-day training camp this week.

The pair are part of Eddie Jones's 45-man squad selected for training ahead of England's three autumn internationals at Twickenham.

The team will be playing Tonga, Australia and World Champions South Africa at the Stoop across three dates in November 2021.

Smith was called up to the British & Irish Lions squad by coach Warren Gatland as cover for the summer tour this year.

He also played for England against USA and Canada at Twickenham, winning his first two caps.

Marchant is yet to make his debut for the senior team but has represented England at Under-18 and Under-20 levels.

The young Quins pair were amongst a group of seven players from the reigning Premiership Champions to make the squad.
