Warren Gatland, head coach of the British & Irish Lions, will gather his coaching team together at Teddington's Lensbury Club today to make their final selection for the 36-man squad for the summer tour of South Africa.

The long-awaited naming of the full squad will be made shortly after midday tomorrow with Wales captain Alun Wyn Jones, widely tipped to be Gatland's choice as skipper.

His team of coaches, Robin McBryde (forwards) Steve Tandy (defence) and Gregor Townsend (attack) agreed the names of 25 players at a previous selection summit at The Lensbury Club which leaves eleven more places up for grabs today.

Two players, who have not featured in Eddie Jones's England squad, Danny Care and Sam Simmonds stand a chance of winning a place and England scrum half Ben Youngs has announced he does not wish to be considered for selection.
