It's been nearly 10 months since Councillor Dylan Baxendale, a member of the Green Party, resigned as a councillor for Hampton Wick ward for personal reasons.

Due to the Coronavirus Act 2020 a by-election was not allowed to take place at the time, and it was delayed until May 2021.

Now the candidates have finally been announced for the by-election which will take place on May 6, the same day as the London Mayoral election.

The candidates fighting for one seat representing Hampton Wick ward are as follows"

- Nick Dexter, Labour Party

- Petra Fleming, Liberal Democrat Party

- Chas Warlow, Green Party

- Nina Watson, Conservative Party

Back in July last year Mr Baxendale said it had been an honour to represent Hampton Wick ward.

He said: "I would like to especially thank my fellow ward councillors, Brown and Millard for their support and the excellent work they are doing for their community.

"I would like to thank all the Council and members and wish them all the best of luck for the future, especially my fellow Green Party councillors."
