The second ever winner of a £250 cash prize in the community lottery Get Lucky Local has generously decided to donate his windfall to the charity he supports and works with.

Francis Ring-Davies is a Crossroads Care support worker and gave his winnings to the local group.

"Crossroads Care is a very worthy organisation and I like to give back where I can," said delighted winner Francis.

Crossroads Care Richmond and Kingston upon Thames chief executive Julie Da Costa said: "Francis Ring-Davies has been a care support worker with Crossroads Care for over 20 years.

"In this photo he had just received a Richmond upon Thames Community Heroes' Award for Dignity of Care.

"A much-valued and well-respected employee, we were very excited to hear that Francis had won £250 in last Saturday's Get Lucky Local lottery draw.

"But when he informed us that he had donated all the winnings to us, we felt truly humbled. Thank you, Francis, for your kindness and generosity. From all at Crossroads Care."

A spokesperson for Get Lucky Local: "This is a fantastic gesture by Francis and just goes to show much local good causes can benefit by encouraging their supporters and members to buy a ticket.

"They are benefiting their chosen cause directly but can also win a cash prize."

Two other players whose nominated good causes are Missing People and SporTedd each won £25 cash prizes and thirteen players won three FREE tickets for next weekend's big Easter draw.

A total of 56 organisations have now signed up to Get Lucky Local and over 1,000 players are buying a ticket every week generating over £31,000 for good causes in the Richmond borough.
