Dale Blair said he would never complain about an away win even if Hampton and Richmond still have things to work on following their 1-0 win over Eastbourne Borough.

Alfy Whittingham scored his first goal for the club as Hampton recorded back-to-back wins in National League South as they beat Eastbourne.

Blair thought there was definite room for improvement in their performance but that it was a good sign to be able to take all three points when not at their best.

Speaking to club media, he said: "Away wins are always nice, so if you can come away and pick up three points then you are never going to complain too much about that.

"Could we have been better in certain areas? I think we could have been, in terms of performance we weren't at our best.

"But if we can pick wins up without being at our best then it is probably a good trait to have.

"I think we saw tonight that it is an honest bunch of players and they were willing to work as hard as possible to get something out of the game.

"So, it is really pleasing to have a group who will do that, so we will try and go into Saturday and try and get another win."

Blair also said that as Hampton are now in the middle of a busy fixture schedule there are going to be a lot of demands placed upon the squad to continue their recent good form.

He said: "It should be another tough test [Braintree Town], they are doing quite well at the moment and it is going to be another game that we are going to have to prepare well for.

"We are entering a period where we are going to go Saturday-Tuesday and the workload is going to be quite high, so we are going to ask their recovery to be good and we are going to ask a lot of them.

"We are getting towards a full squad, slowly, we have Luis Fernandez now who is starting to hopefully knock on that door.

"There are one or two others who are now starting to get themselves back in contention to be in the squad and that is going to be much needed.

"The good thing is that we have players in this squad who can hurt teams in different ways and the more options we have then the more opportunities we have to play in different ways and get success and try and win."
