Maybe it was the weather, maybe a bit of complacency and coupled with a spirited performance from the opposition this win wasn't as easy as it ended up looking on paper.

Teddington travelled to near neighbours Kingston on Saturday looking to complete a clean sweep in the opening block of 6 games of this campaign.

They started well, with Bob BEEVERS nudging over an early penalty before trys for James FRANKENBERGER and Hal DARE pushed the league leaders out to a 15-0 lead after 15 minutes, however the hosts came back with two trys of their own.

Harry SMITH gave Teddington a bit of breathing space with a try on the half hour mark, but Kingston weren't going away as they added 2 penalties to bring them back within 2 points at the break.

With Teddington reduced to 14 with a man in the bin and having to go up the slope in the second half, an upset looked like it might be on the cards.

Fortunately, the challenge seemed to galvanise Teddington and they scored 3 unanswered second half trys courtesy of Dan ROBERTSHAW, another from Harry SMITH and late nail in Kingston's coffin from Alfie RANSOM.

BEEVERS as always kept the scoreboard ticking over with penalties and conversions and the Antlers were home and dry. A fantastic start to the league season now sees Teddington 6 from 6 with 6 bonus points.

Next week is a rest week before Old Walcountians visit Bushy Park on 4th November.

Final Score Kingston RFC 20 Teddington RFC 49. Man of the Match Stuart RIDLER.

The 2nd XV's scheduled league game against Dorking was cancelled by the opposition, so a rearranged friendly was organised against London Irish.

The game was keenly contested and evenly matched, with Teddington edging it thanks to a brace of trys from Rob LOUW, and a try apiece for Ethan DAVIES and Matt DEVITT.

There were good performances throughout the Antlers line up, with many knocking on the door for 1st team selection.

Final Score Teddington 2nd XV 26 London Irish 21. Man of the Match Ethan DAVIES.
