Old Loughtonians 1 - 2 Teddington Ladies 1s
Teddington Ladies 1s followed the men out to Old Loughtonians for their first ever match in the National League and started the match with forceful intent straight from the pushback.
Teddington expected a battle, but didn't quite realise it would be such a physical and emotional challenge with the home side offering up not only a strong combative playing style but plenty of chat off the ball. Teddington stayed calm and collected throughout and realised keeping the ball and frustrating the home side's energies with some stunning textbook play was the way to play this game.
Molly Chesney turned in both the Teddington goals - the team's first for the national league finishing off great spells of possession in Q2 and 3.
Old Loughts fought back hard and the pressure told when they scored in the final quarter to take it to 2-1 and to cue a frantic final 10 minutes. Teddington managed to stand firm and take the points and a perfect start to the season.
