Teddington NPL lights up purple to celebrate disability inclusion

TEDDINGTON science lab the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) was bathed in purple light earlier this month to show its support for and commitment to disability inclusion in the workplace.

The NPL buildings glowed purple from 29 to 3 December as part of 'Purple Lights Up,' a yearly campaign by the world's only disability confident professional network hub Purple Space.

TEDDINGTON'S Landmark Arts Centre has outlined its exciting new plans for the future and said thank you to all who supported it during the pandemic,when the centre was threatened with closure.

In a detailed newsletter, Martin Nicholds, Chair of the Trustees at the Landmark, thanked local councillors, MP Munira Wilson and "many local celebrities" for their support during the difficult 2020-2021 period.

Environment Secretary criticises Bushy Park traffic reduction scheme

Bushy Park's main roads have been partly closed to cars since last year

ENVIRONMENT Secretary George Eustice MP has criticised a traffic reduction trial in Teddington's Bushy Park, stating that he would "prefer to see the park re-opened."

The Conservative MP said closing the roads in the park to traffic has "increased congestion and associated problems around surrounding roads" and expressed his scepticism of the scheme.

MPs have voted in favour of reintroducing some Covid restrictions as part of the prime minister's back-up plan to limit the spread of Omicron, despite a large Tory rebellion.

The 'Plan B' measures include the return of mandatory face coverings to most indoor venues, the introduction of Covid passes to large venues and compulsory vaccinations for NHS workers.
