Young Photographer Competition comes to Teddington
An exciting new competition for young photography enthusiasts has come to Richmond Borough.
The London Photo Festival is asking the children of Richmond and Teddington to submit photos adhering to their interpretations of 'landscape photography'.
One example they give is: "showing spaces within the world, sometimes vast and unending, but other times microscopic. Landscape photographs typically capture the presence of nature but can also focus on man-made features or disturbances of landscapes."
There will be two competition categories: under 12s and 13-18 year olds.
As part of the £6m Marble Hill Revived project, the London Photo Festival has teamed up with English Heritage, saying 'we will see the landscape invested in so that elements of the historic features are restored, areas are opened up and the site bio secure for generations to come.'
These photos will be judged and selected by members of the London Photo Festival, English Heritage and industry experts.
The top two images from each category will then be displayed in the grounds of Marble Hill House for 6 weeks from March 2021.
A full list of short-listed entries will also be published on the Organiser's website.
London Photo Festival was founded in 2011 by Emma Mapp and Kit Shah, with the aim to give new and emerging photographers an affordable way to display their art.
Today, they are passionate about giving new photographers their first break by facilitating them with a relaxed, professional environment to exhibit their work without fear of judgement.
The submission deadline is 11PM on 28th February 2021. Entry is free and there should only be ONE submission per entrant. Apply for the competition HERE
