Struggling with Menopause Symptoms? Feeling overwhelmed?

In anticipation of World Menopause Day on 18 October 2024, Certified Menopause Coach Nicky Gaylor of Sylk Ltd., and Space for Life Yoga are offering an inspiring afternoon of yoga and wellbeing on Saturday 9 November at 50 Hill Rise in Richmond.

Aimed at midlife women, the workshop will help women to define a life plan which works for them.

The plan will include a 'how to say no' guide along with nutrition, sleep, and exercise advice.

The afternoon will also include a yoga practice to re- connect with women's bodily intuition, yoga power poses to build confidence, and a relaxing meditation.

Perimenopause symptoms often hit at a time when women have huge responsibility and less community support than previous generations.

Through habit and conditioning, they end up saying 'yes' to avoid upsetting others, leading to feelings of overwhelming, stress and anxiety.

Moreover, a recent report from The Fawcett Society showed a shocking lack of support.

Almost half of the menopausal women surveyed hadn't spoken to their GP about their symptoms, even though 69% of women experience menopausal anxiety and depression.

Speaking about the event, Gaylor said: "This half day workshop at a beautiful venue in Richmond aims to guide women, so they will leave with an actionable THRIVE plan to meet their goals.

"The plan will include how to ask for support, so women feel empowered and less overwhelmed.

"With the right advice and support, menopause can actually be a time to embrace new opportunities."

Space for Life Yoga's Georgina Gardner told Teddington Nub News: "I'm looking forward to running a yoga session designed at reconnecting us with our bodies.

"When we are busy, it's easy to ignore our intuitive feelings. I hope women are able to take this time for self care, which is crucial for good health in menopause.

"We'll also have some fun trying our power poses, and leave refreshed after a guided 'yogic sleep' meditation"

Places for the event are limited and there is an early Bird price of £50 until 9 October £50, and tickets will be £60 after that.

Goody bags will be given to all attendees.
