Working parents in Teddington could benefit from expanded funded childcare hours from September

Parents can benefit from the Government's expansion of free childcare support from September 2025.
The scheme was first introduced as 15 hours of free childcare for all 3 and 4-year-olds but is now being rolled out to younger age groups.
From September, eligible working parents with children under 5 are set to receive up to 30 hours of free childcare each week.
As part of the 2023 Spring Budget, the government announced a phased extension to funded childcare.
Families may qualify for additional childcare support if they receive Universal Credit with a household income under £15,400 after tax, disability living allowance for the child, an education, health and care (EHC) plan, and adoption or special guardianships offers.
Funding starts from the term after your child reaches the qualifying age, so parents must apply in advance.
Nurseries in Teddington, such as Kindred Nurseries, are participating in the scheme.
Kindred also offers additional discounts for siblings and NHS workers, firefighter, and police.
