Emergency services conducted a rescue operation on Sunday (7 December) afternoon after a woman fell on Lot's Ait, a small island in the River Thames in Brentford.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the island, which sits in the Thames between Brentford and Kew, at around 12:17pm on 7 December following reports of a fall.

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) deployed an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and paramedics from their specialist Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called to assist at 12:43pm, with Control Officers mobilising three fire engines and a Fire Rescue Unit to the scene.

Video footage shows emergency service personnel crossing Dahlia Bridge carrying a stretcher during the hour-long rescue operation, which concluded around 2pm.

A LAS spokesperson confirmed: "We were called at 12.17pm on Sunday 7 December to reports of a fall on Lot's Ait, Brentford.

"We treated a woman and took her to a major trauma centre."

A LFB spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to assist London Ambulance Service with an incident near High Street, Brentford.
