Spring Art Fair at the Landmark Arts Centre

There are over 70 artists to discover at the Landmark's Sprint art fair this Friday.

National Physical Laboratory celebrates World Metrology Day

The National Physical Laboratory is celebrating World Metrology Day by opening their doors. 

Metrology, the science of measurement, enables pioneering digital technologies and allows research, innovation, manufacturing and trade to flourish in the UK. On World Metrology Day, May 20th, NPL is celebrating by opening their doors. Join them to find out how their scientists and engineers are supporting the UK's digital journey, enabling innovation and improving the quality of our everyday lives using measurement science.

Visit the labs and see their science in action by watching a live simulation of road vehicle sensors used in driverless cars, seeing inside an MRI scanner and exploring the physics behind solar energy and the technologies that will help us reach net zero.

Take part in interactive activities, including making your own gas standard using balloons, creating a self-portrait with our AI artist and meeting their SI bots.

Saturday, May 21

Richmond volleyball 2* series

The Richmond Series (2*UKBT) is a series of tournaments aimed at adults and juniors of intermediate level. Join them for competitive tournaments in a relaxed atmosphere at their beach courts in Teddington.

The format for the day includes: single-gender 2v2, male and female competitions, all levels welcome, maximum 8 teams per gender, minimum 4 matches per team, pool play followed by single elimination, reduced scoring (if required), medals/Prizes for the winning teams, UKBT ranking points will be allocated and music all day.

Sunday, May 22

Damian Hand Trio at The Wharf

Damian is a multi - instrumentalist and composer / producer working from his studio in Ham just across the river from the Wharf. He has toured internationally and appeared on many TV shows including The Jay Leno Show and Later with Jools Holland .

Damian and members of the Trio have worked with artists such as Van Morrison, Richard Thompson, Allen Toussaint, Jerry Dammers, Akasha , Chris Farlowe and many more. They provide the ideal ambience for your visit to The Wharf with their repertoire of popular jazz standards and soul jazz.

Head down to The Wharf Restaurant this Sunday and enjoy a soothing afternoon before the manic of the week ahead...
