Handmade Notebooks Workshop at Ham House

Learn how to make a selection of notebooks using a combination of folding, sewing and a sprinkle of hole punching.

This workshop is perfect for beginners or those wanting to try something new.

Under the expert guidance of Gill Smith, a local paper cut artist and bookmaker, each participant will learn how to manipulate paper for bookmaking, craft a pamphlet with a laminated cover, make a double section notebook, and create a stab binding notebook.

On completion of the workshop, you will get to leave with the handmade notebooks you have created!

Kindred Teddington Nursery & Pre-School Open Day

Teddington's Kindred Pre-School is inviting parents and their young ones to their open day this Saturday.

During the one-to-one visit, families will be informed on the Kindred ethos, which will include their techniques in inspiring their children to be curious learners and how they work to inspire their imaginations.

Families will have the chance to meet the Kindred management team and answer any questions they may have. Whether it is about the pre-school's settling in process, their nutritionally accredited home cooked food or government funding options to help with childcare costs.

Make sure to book in advance, which can be done via the link above.

Sunday, October 2

Maggie Bell and Dave Kelly at the Landmark Arts Centre

An evening with two stalwarts of the British R&B scene: two great voices, two great reputations, a wonderful evening of acoustic blues, soul and good times.

Maggie Bell and Dave Kelly's on-stage chemistry is immediately apparent, stemming from their love and respect for the music they play. When they first got together in 2007 they both wished to sing 'any song that took their fancy', so the set includes folk, rock, country, gospel as well as blues and soul. When Maggie and Dave take to the stage 'anything can happen' (and often does).

Maggie Bell - Scotland's Queen of Soul, founder member of Stone the Crows, later had an incredibly successful solo career on both sides of the Atlantic, and stole the show as Special Guest at the Led Zeppelin reunion concert.

Dave Kelly - London's slide guitar king, has worked with Son House, Howlin Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells and is a founder member of The Blues Band.

Rise and Roar: Quiet Session in the Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace

Join Hampton Court Palace on Sunday morning for a quiet session in The Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace, aimed at those living with or caring for someone with Autism, or those who have any other sensory needs, and their families and carers.

During the session, fewer people will be permitted than usual and adjustments will be made to the unique playground. The Palace hopes the changes will enable families to enjoy the Magic Garden alongside others who understand and empathise with the challenges faced when trying to plan an activity or day out.

The session begins at 09.30 and ends at 11.00.

The Magic Garden is a unique, interactive play garden, inspired by the history and stories of Hampton Court Palace.

Built on the site of Henry VIII's former tiltyard, the garden includes a range of exciting elements for children and families to explore: from tiltyard towers and aerial walkways to a dragon, a mythical beasts' lair, a huge bejewelled crown and an underground grotto.

Free from clickbait, pop-up ads and unwanted surveys, Teddington Nub News is a quality online newspaper for our town.

If it wasn't for our sponsors like the Landmark Arts Centre, our what's on section and news site would not be possible. Thank you.
