Friday 26 January
The Piano Bar with Pete Saunders, The Wharf, 7pm
Pete Saunders, with a voice that's been around the block will remind you of Tom Waits or Doctor John. His funky bluesy takes on Jazz, Pop and Rock classics are irreverent and eclectic. It's a world where the Cure meet the Aristocats and Ellington meets popular TV themes.
Pete started out in the original line up of Dexy's Midnight Runners when he was a teenager and since then has played and sung on stages with bands cabaret groups and solo from here to Australia and from the Barbican to Berlin.
Landmark Quiz, Landmark Arts Centre, doors 6:15pm with a 7pm start
Your annual chance to test those little grey cells! Teams can be up to six people and there's a great prize in store for the winning team, plus fabulous raffle prizes! So come along and enjoy a great night out whilst raising much needed funds for the Landmark. Ticket price includes a supper served up by Ruba Restaurant with either Lebanese grilled chicken on a bed of lamb rice, topped with mixed nuts and homemade traditional gravy or Vegetarian mousakaat with rice.
Riverside Cellar Club Burns Night, The Anglers, 8pm
Join this riverside pub for a memorable evening celebrating Burns Night with Wine Master, Carl. Enjoy a curated selection of whiskies and wines, perfectly paired with a Burns Night-themed dinner. Tickets are £65 including tastings and dinner. Limited spots available – book now for an elegant night of camaraderie and exceptional libations.
Pressure, Hampton Hill Theatre, 8pm
June 1944: meteorologist Captain James Stagg has the task of predicting the weather for what would become one of the most important missions of World War II. His word will trigger the go-ahead for the Allies' invasion of Normandy. Get it right and he will have played a key role in one of the most successful military assignments ever attempted. Get it wrong, and he'll be responsible for the death of thousands of young men. While battling powerful counterparts, Stagg must do all he can to convince General Eisenhower, the man who will make the ultimate decision.
Our major revival of actor and writer David Haig's tense and gripping play commemorates 80 years since the incredible events of D-Day. The original production garnered five-star reviews in The Observer, Evening Standard and The Daily Telegraph, who called it "funny, tense and deeply affecting... outstanding".
Saturday 27 January
LAST CHANCE: Pressure, Hampton Hill Theatre, 4pm
Hampton Wick Photography Exhibition, Hampton Wick Library, 10am-6pm
A free exhibition of work by local photographers, featuring different perspectives of Hampton Wick including empty, black and white streetscapes by Dave Rees, unusual angles by James Bell and arresting views from the park by Alan Crossland.
The exhibition aims to help people to see and appreciate Hampton Wick in new ways. Open on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Kate Bush Experience, Hampton Hub Club, 7-11:15pm
"A very rare chance to see the songs of Kate Bush performed live. With only one live performance in the last 30 years, Kate Bush fans are left wanting more. Kate Bush's eclectic and experimental musical style, unconventional lyrics, and literary themes have made her a unique but rarely seen performer. The Kate Bush Experience aims to bring you as close as you're ever likely to get to the legendary artist.
Sunday 28 January
Damian Hand Trio, The Wharf, 1:30pm
Damian is a multi - instrumentalist and composer / producer working from his studio in Ham just across the river from the Wharf. He has toured internationally and appeared on many TV shows including The Jay Leno Show and Later with Jools Holland. They provide the ideal ambience for your visit to The Wharf with their repertoire of popular jazz standards and soul jazz.
Classics by Candlelight, Landmark Arts Centre, doors at 6:15pm for a 7pm start
A captivating concert performed by Icon Strings, London's premier string quartet. This ensemble of top chamber musicians, all graduates from leading conservatoires, is renowned for their dynamic and heartfelt performances that have enthralled audiences worldwide.
Machine Sewing for Beginners, United Response, 10am-1pm
In this three-hour workshop with Cornelia Costeanu you'll be given a step-by-step introduction to machine sewing, whilst creating your own beautiful and unique cushion cover. All materials are included, together with lots of tea, coffee and home made cake. A sewing machine can be provided (for a small fee of £10), though the organisers do recommend that you bring your own machine if you have one.
Sunday Quiz, The Abercorn Arms, 7:30pm
Get your thinking caps on and sharpen your competitive streak with a pub quiz! 1st prize is a £50 tab voucher with rollover jackpot questions. Food served until 10pm.
LAST CHANCE: Winter Show, Orleans House Gallery, 10am-5pm
It's the final day of the Winter Show, featuring the work of some of Richmond's best artists. Each artwork on display will be original, for sale and made in the borough so come along and celebrate Richmond's vibrant visual arts community.
