A SUSPECTED fire at Teddington Boots on Broad Street has now been revealed to be a false alarm and the shop is open for business again.

Firefighters were called to the pharmacy at 8.40am following reports of smoke coming from the building.

But the incident was over quickly as no fire was found, and the crew left between 9.30 and 10 o'clock.

Teddington Boots re-opened at 10.30am and is now trading as normal.

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade confirmed to Nub News that no-one was hurt in the incident.

They said: "Firefighters were called to reports of smoke issuing from a pharmacy on Broad Street in Teddington at 0840 this morning.

"It was a false alarm and the incident was over for crews by 0845. Two fire engines from Twickenham Fire Station attended."

A similar mysterious smoke incident happened at the store last year and questions are now being raised over what is causing the smoke to be released.

Nub News will bring you further updates when we have them.
