Nub News has learned that the footbridge at Teddington Lock will undergo 'general maintenance' works when it closes for repairs.

This will include repainting, repairs to the concrete structure and replacing the ramp on the Teddington side of the bridge.

A temporary access ramp will be put in place but there will be times when the bridge will have to be closed completely with diversion routes in place.

Last month (29 April) the Council confirmed that Teddington Lock bridge will close for repairs , but dates and times have not yet been confirmed.

When the bridge closes, the only crossing points for hundreds of schoolchildren and cycling commuters will be Kingston and Richmond Bridge, plus Hammertons ferry between Ham House and Marble Hill Park.
