Teddington Nub News aims to be supportive to EVERY element of the community from business and shops to people and charities and clubs and sports organisations.
Everyone is finding it tough at the moment and is desperate to get back to normal.
We will be profiling some of these local businesses and groups regularly over the coming weeks in a feature called UP CLOSE IN TEDDINGTON in the hope that we can be a supportive springboard for your full return to business as usual.
This week we talked to Natalie from Teddington Dance Studio who told us about the studio and their award-winning classes.
About Teddington Dance Studio
Located on Church Road Teddington Dance Studio is popular with dance-enthusiasts from Teddington and beyond.
Natalie said: "We are a performing arts school that opened in 2012.
"We have almost 200 students coming from as far as Guildford & Sunbury to join our classes.
"Lots of children in the local community come here for our high standard of teaching and many have gone to to pursue a career with in the performing Arts industry"
Award-Winners two years running
Teddington Dance Studio definitely prides itself on that high standard of teaching.
So much so that they have been award-winning for the last two years in a row.
Natalie explained: "We've been selected by the Council for Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre as a recognised school.
"To apply you have to qualify for nine different elements.
"You then have to present the standard of your teaching to them.
"Winning this award makes us standout from the rest and reassures parents that their child is in a professional environment with fully qualified staff that have in depth knowledge of the Performing Arts industry"
Coping through the pandemic
Obviously in-person dance classes have not been possible for much of this year.
However Zoom classes have still proved popular as they continued through the 18 week stretch of the first lockdown.
On takeup in the second lockdown Natalie added: "We have been running the full schedule with 100% attendance which is great to see.
"Even the pre-school children have been Zooming in! It is so important for kids to keep active whether dance is their hobby or future career."
The Future
With lockdown again ending on December 2nd there is real optimism that in-person classes can return.
However nothing is yet confirmed before more government regulations are released and what tier Teddington is put into.
In the meantime you can visit the website for more information about signing up.
