5th Nov 2021 | Local News
Teddington Nub News aims to be supportive to EVERY element of the community from business and shops to people and charities and clubs and sports organisations.
Everyone is finding it tough at the moment and is desperate to get back to normal.
We will be profiling some of these local businesses and groups regularly over coming weeks in a feature called UP CLOSE IN TEDDINGTON in the hope that we can be a supportive springboard for your full return to business as usual.
This week we talked to John Andrews, Head of Department Corporate and Commercial at Morrisons Solicitors in Teddington.
About the business
Morrisons has offices across South West London and Surrey.
We asked John to tell us more about the business and what they do.
He said: "We are a long established firm of around 300 years.
"We do the full range of legal services from corporate law, wills and businesses to business transactions.
"We have a great family law team and have nine offices in total."
Why Nub News and Morrisons have more in common than you think
Both Nub News and Morrisons have at least one major thing in common: we are focused on the local community.
John said: "Our values reflect Nub's values.
"We live and work in the area and we know a lot of the local business owners in Teddington.
"We have been here eight years and know it well."
Being a law firm during a pandemic
Obviously the coronavirus pandemic has made work a lot different for everyone.
But Morrisons are on track for another good year.
John added: "At the start of the pandemic we aimed to meet 70% of the target we set ourselves before it kicked off.
"Now we look like we're on course to reach 100%.
"While we're not seeing a lot of big deals a lot of small and medium deals are still going through."
Working from home or from the office?
A debate that has been raging on since the start of the pandemic is whether working from home is the future.
John told us: "At the start of lockdown we all worked from home for three months.
"The office is now open five days a week with one or two people in an office that usually has six.
"We have to have our temperature checked and go through a disinfectant arch every time we go in.
"Personally I love working from home. It used to be frowned upon although it is still not great for training."
The Future
The future is looking bright for Morrisons.
The property business in particular is booming thanks to the stamp duty holiday.
