A Teddington vicar is the new chair of a borough wide inter-faith group.

Joe Moffatt, vicar at St Mary with St Alban on Ferry Road, is the new Chair of the borough's Inter Faith Forum, a partnership of local faith groups and stakeholders who work together to promote peace, mutual understanding and respect.

Reverend Moffatt said: "I'm delighted to take on this role at a time when the Covid19 crisis has shown how important it is for statutory bodies and faith and belief groups to work in partnership.

"I hope that we can continue to build bridges, form alliances and work together for the mutual flourishing of all."

Jeremy Rodell from the SW London Humanists is the new Vice Chair.

They replace Rev Peter Hart from Barn Church in Kew and Charanjit Ajit Singh of Hounslow Gurdwara.

The group aims to promote mutual understanding and tolerance between groups in and around the borough.

It also provides a forum at which they can share information, actively engage and influence local policy and service delivery and collectively discuss matters relevant to the wellbeing of their members.
