Today is set to be the hottest day of the year so far in Teddington.

The current highest temperature recorded in the country is 33.3 degrees Celsius at Heathrow Airport last month.

However the temperature in Teddington and Bushy Park is set to be even hotter than that today.

According to the Met Office we could see highs of around 34 degrees!

This high will be reached between 14:00 and 15:00 this afternoon, so be careful if you are out in the sun then.

The weather will quickly turn however as there is a 50% chance of a thunderstorm at 18:00.

Temperatures at Heathrow again are expected to be amongst the hottest in the country - as they could soar to 35 degrees Celsius.

The hottest UK temperature on record is 38.7 degrees in Cambridge Botanical Gardens.

This was measured on July 25th last year.
