St George, based in Richmond upon Thames, won the Community Investment Award for its Green Quarter regeneration project at the 2025 West London Business Awards.

The West London Business Awards was held at Allianz Stadium in Twickenham on Friday 31 January and attended by over 400 business leaders, entrepreneurs, and VIPs.

The awards was hosted by actor and comedian Tim Vine.

St George's The Green Quarter in the London Borough of Ealing is one of the country's most ambitious regeneration projects.

The 88-acre former Southall Gasworks is being transformed into a nature-rich neighbourhood, characterised by 13 acres of beautiful parks, meadows and wetlands, designed in partnership with London Wildlife Trust.

Almost half of the site will be public space, including a mix of natural habitats, fitness trails, public squares, outdoor event space and children's play and recreation areas.

The new neighbourhood brings a wide range of public amenities to Southall, including a health centre, primary school, community centre and a mix of shops, cafés and office space.

Investment has also flowed into infrastructure improvements, Minet Country Park, supporting Ealing's Air Quality Strategy, as well as a hire car and cycle club.

Significant contributions have gone back into the community through the provision of facilities, events, employment and skills investment, as well as community projects and charitable support.

The approach is informed by community research, ensuring local needs and aspirations are listened to.

A community survey surfaced The Green Quarter's three strategic priorities: connecting people and creating a sense of belonging, creating opportunities and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

All investment is governed by the ability to deliver measurable positive outcomes against these priority areas.

To support delivery of the community plan, The Green Quarter established a community chest programme in 2023 comprising a £25,000 small grant fund.

Successful applicants must meet community priorities and provide direct local community benefit to be awarded a grant.

Andrew Dakers, Chief Executive of West London Business, said: "The quality of entries to the West London Business Awards just gets better and better, and for this year we received more entries than ever before.

"For this twelfth West London Business Awards, we recognised 27 winners from 21 industries out of 77 finalists.

"The talent and innovation across West London is palpable. This really drives home that London is the best place in the UK for entrepreneurs to thrive and for businesses to grow."

Several other Richmond borough businesses were nominated for various awards.
