The Sports Roundup: The Teddington Treble is on in the cricket and fans return to The Stoop
Cricket
It was a fantastic weekend for Teddington in the cricket after the club was victorious in three crunch fixtures against Ealing.
The first team defeated Ealing easily at Bushy Park winning by a comfortable 131 runs.
Teddington scored 258 for 6 including a century from Abishek Jhunjhunwala while Ealing were all out for 127.
The firsts now have an eight point lead over nearest rivals Richmond so a win this weekend will guarantee the title.
Meanwhile the seconds and thirds had an even better weekend as both teams impressively secured their league titles.
The second team bowled Ealing out for 90 and it took them just 16 overs to beat this total and only dropped three wickets.
This puts Teddington a huge 18 points ahead of nearest rivals Richmond which means that they cannot be caught with just one fixture remaining.
A huge congratulation to them and the third team who also sealed their league title.
They defeated Ealing by six wickets after bowling them out for 108.
This puts the third team 19 points ahead of their nearest rivals.
Given that all three teams play for their respective top divisions this is a huge achievement.
Rugby
Fans were back at The Stoop this weekend - but this was there the success ended for Harlequins.
Quins lost to Bath 41-27 which puts them in 8th, while Bath are now in 5th.
There is a quick opportunity to bounce back however for Harlequins as they take on London Irish on Wednesday at The Stoop.
