From 28 January – 1 February, Teddington Theatre Club (TTC) will be performing Genni Trickett's Weird Women at Hampton Hill Theatre.

The synopsis for Weird Women reads: "Three sisters reunite in their old Lancashire home after their mother's funeral.

"They've all chosen different paths in life - but what is the dark secret they all share?

"Will it bring the family closer together or tear them apart?

"And what of the new generation; Zack, Morgan and Cassie?

"Are they ready to face the truth about their family - and themselves?"

Speaking about the plot of Weird Women, TTC actress, Isabelle Crean said: "It's an excellent insight into sibling rivalries between three sisters and the clash of their life choices.

"If you thought witchcraft was a thing of the past, you'll quickly discover in Weird Women that forces and sisterhood transcend history and empowers the future."

The cast includes Claire Morrisey (Diana), Anthea Barter (Barbie), Isabelle Crean (Lillian), Michael Andrew (Eddie), Jenny Doran (Morgan), September Taliana-Carey (Cassie), and Jasper Loxton (Zack).

The director of TTC's adaptation of Weird Women, Cat Lamin told Teddington Nub: "I'm so excited to bring a piece of new writing to life, especially one that covers so many sensitive issues in such an empowering way.

"The cast are really enjoying rehearsals."

TTC have been rehearsing for Weird Women since late October says Lamin.

Speaking about the rehearsal process, Anthea Barter said: "It is uplifting to have such a supportive director and cast around you.

"With everyone acting in harmony, unlike their characters, there is the potential to create some magic on stage, in more ways than one.

"In a story of a family coming together with their commonalities and their grievances, there is something that everyone can relate to in Weird Women.

"The wonderfully crafted script provides as many light-hearted moments as darker ones, so be prepared to both laugh and cry. Something our Prompt can testify to, and the special effects alone will be well worth the visit."

Claire Morrisey added: "Weird Women is a hard-hitting family drama, which has the power to make you laugh one minute and cry the next.

"We all understand the complexities of family dynamics, but add to that many other layers - religion, misogyny, repression & abuse. With all these very harsh subjects, you'd think rehearsals would be tough going and very serious.

"Quite the opposite, we have laughed so much, which has made this experience so very enjoyable. I can't wait for us to share this story with you."

Jenny Doran says she has "loved being a part of Weird Women".

The director and cast are a joy to work with and we are all looking forward to the shows.

"Weird women is an exciting play about a family reuniting. If you like to watch a show about dark family secrets being uncovered, conflicts rising and supernatural twists, please come and watch."

Weird Women will be running from 7.45pm – 10pm from Tuesday 28 January – Friday 31 January.

On Saturday 1 February, there will be a show from 2pm – 4pm and another from 6pm – 8pm.
