Teddington Swimming Club was celebrating yesterday (12 September) after scooping £782 through the community lottery GET LUCKY LOCAL's partnership with the riverside restaurant & bar The Wharf.

Their cash boost was the result of 1354 tickets purchased by The Wharf as part of the new initiative between GET LUCKY LOCAL and the restaurant, whereby diners donated an additional £1 to their bill over the month of August and the restaurant generously matched the donation.

The partnership raised £732 which was increased by two £25 cash prizes, making a grand total of £782 for the club.

Nick Poaros Chairman of TSC commented: "We would like to thank The Wharf, its customers and the Get Lucky Local team for their efforts and generosity in raising funds for our club and supporting the local community.

The owner of The Wharf, Barbara Spain, said: "We are delighted to be supporting this community initiative and seeing the impact on local organisations where extra funds are so vital.

"I'd also like to thank our growing family of customers who have supported us through this tough time but also recognise the need of other groups in the community."

Last month the local GOOD CAUSE was Teddington Cricket Club and previously the Teddington Theatre Club which scooped a curtain-raising £25,000 jackpot in the community lottery.

Get Lucky Local was launched last November and is raising over £50,000 a year for Good Causes.

59 community projects across Richmond borough are now signed up.
