Teddington Skiff Club to start beginners' rowing lessons next weekend

From Saturday, 29 March, The Skiff Club in Teddington will be offering beginners' courses and activities for those who want to learn to row a traditional Thames Skiff.
Regular club activities include rowing outings throughout the week and on weekends, often with a pub or cafe stop, along with ongoing coaching and training.
A friendly bar is also open on Thursdays for well-earned refreshments.
For the more adventurous, the club organises expeditions to other waterways in the UK and abroad.
This year's tours include four days on the River Wey, two days to Chertsey and back, skiffing at the Vogalonga festival in Venice and a three-day row upstream for Henley Regatta.
Skiffs are stable, making basic skills easy to learn, leading to good exercise and opportunities to race in local events on the Thames under the Skiff Racing Association.
It is also a great way to enjoy the river, learn a skill, get some exercise and meet new friends.
The sessions will begin at 8.30am at The Boathouse on Trowlock Way with each lesson lasting 1.5 hours.
Four sessions cost £60 (refundable upon joining the club).
The club also offers trial outings if the beginners' course doesn't suit.
Book your sessions here.
