Teddington MP Munira Wilson has shared how she's been spending her summer break enjoying our town's many attractions.
In a post on her website today (23 August), Wilson, 43, revealed how she made the most of her 'staycation' by going to her constituency's beauty spots, museums, and sites of historic interest.
Her trip started with Marble Hill House and Park in Twickenham, a former retreat from court for King George II's mistress Henrietta Howard.
The gardens recently had an £8 million facelift to bring them back to their 1748 splendour and are now one of the prettiest spots on the Thames.
The Lib Dem MP then went down the road to Turner's House, a favourite retreat of the great romantic painter which was built in 1813 and designed by the artist himself.
Wilson's blog noted the MP was "particularly pleased" to learn about the work Turner's House Trust, which looks after the building, does with local schools and charities.
The Liberal Democrat Health & Social Care spokesperson later spent a "wonderful afternoon" at Strawberry Hill House and Garden, located on Teddington's doorstep.
This extravagantly gothic house, built in the 1700s by author Horace Walpole, is filled with curious artefacts to discover.
Its grounds include a community garden that is being prescribed for many, such as those with dementia.
Wilson went further back in time and visited Hampton Court Palace, once home to King Henry VIII, down the road in Hampton.
She praised the "spectacular" grounds which include the oldest surviving hedge maze in Britain - and described the place as a "must visit."
The final stop on Munira's tour was the World Rugby Museum at Twickenham Stadium, which holds the most extensive collection of rugby memorabilia in the world - including over 11,000 historic photographs.
There is also a stadium tour and an interactive zone, making the museum a great family day out.
Wilson said: "Foreign travel may be difficult at the moment, but this summer is an opportunity to explore everything our local community has to offer.
"Twickenham is blessed with wonderful cultural, sporting, natural and historic attractions. There is something for everyone.
"These sites have done fantastically well to adapt over the past 18 months including: keeping gardens and grounds open where possible, providing online talks and events and keeping volunteers, staff and communities engaged.
"This is no small feat, and a testament to the local communities' support.
"I encourage everyone to visit and support our cultural sites across the constituency."
