BELOVED community event Teddington Lights Up is returning for 2021 - and is set to be the town's biggest ever Christmas event.
For the first time in Teddington history, Stanley Road will close for the night along with Broad Street, the High Street, the Causeway, Park Road and Church Road.
The annual Christmas celebration now has an official date of 25 November and already tantalising details have been revealed of what locals can expect at the event.
Live music, market stalls, children's rides, mulled wine, face painting and a Christmas Craft Fair are just some of the fantastic entertainment that will be on offer.
The RNLI, Twickenham Fire Station, The Salvation Army and Teddington Choral Society are set to make appearances and a music stage will be set up on Church Road.
The news announced today by organisers Teddington Together comes as a relief after it was reported earlier this year that key sponsors had pulled out.
It costs £28,000 to put on the event and Teddington Together have been working hard to raise the money to cover this throughout the year.
They are keen for as many locals to come as possible to make it a night to go down in Teddington history!
It also comes after a tough year and a half for local shops in Teddington as the pandemic has seen some well-loved traders shut their doors including most recently Jenny Blanc and Johnsons Shoes.
On the day the high street and Church Road will be closed from 3pm with the official lights being turned on at 6.30pm. The roads will reopen at 9pm.
Find out more about the event on the Teddington Together website.
You can also let the organisers know you're going by RSVP-ing to the Facebook event - just search "Teddington Christmas Lights Up 2021" to find it.
