Two friends from Teddington, Deborah and Lucy, have organised a singles social event for next moth as they're "fed up with dating apps and some of the behaviours they seem to encourage".

The event will run from 7.30pm – 11pm on Thursday 13 February (the day before Valentines Day) at The Park Hotel.

The event is suitable for singles aged in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s.

Deborah and Lucy said: "A room where everyone is single. That's the only rule. Have drinks and chat with lovely, brilliant people! (Don't worry. This is not speed dating.)

"Ditch the apps for a night! Get ready for Valentine's Day with a different, fun and healthier approach to dating.

"It's a community feel event organised by two local single women bored of dating apps and some of the behaviours they seem to encourage. Date bravely and talk to brilliant, friendly people in real life.

"95% of people come to similar events on their own. Honestly, we can be your wing women. Everyone else will be in the same boat."

At the event you can expect:

• A room where EVERYONE is single
• The venue is a grand and stylish hotel bar in The Park Hotel, Teddington. It's located 2 minutes from local buses and Teddington train station. 
• 95% of people come to similar events on their own. It's perfectly ok to feel a little apprehensive but we promise you that within 10 minutes you will be having a great time chatting with some lovely people.
• Our hosts will greet you and help with any introductions, making you feel comfortable.
• A free drink (from the available selection; alcohol or a soft drink) when you arrive. We will have our own bar specially for the event.
• The age range for this event is 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.

Tickets to the event cost £18, including a free welcome drink, and 100% of ticket proceeds go to charities Motor Neurone Disease Association and The Schools Consent Project.
