Local graphic designer and illustrator, Suki Hubbard, is asking people to donate their empty sardine cans to her, so that she can turn them into wonderfully wacky artworks.

The artist asks that you do not throw your tins or their ring pulls away, but instead give them a new purpose. If you live locally, all you have to do is give them a wash and then send Suki an email so that she can come and collect them.

As you can see above, Suki likes to create little scenes in her tin cans, including some familiar ones like Teddington Cheese and the Octagon Room at Orleans House Gallery in Twickenham.

These quirky little pieces of art made out of recycled materials made us smile here at Teddington Nub News, and we think that this is an excellent opportunity for local residents to support their local artists, as well as the environment.

If you have any sardine cans that you'd like to donate, email Suki at [email protected].
