A Teddington-based charity, focused on supporting the people of Ukraine with ambulances, pick-Up trucks, and aid, set off on its 24th humanitarian mission to the war torn country on Monday (27 July).

Mighty Convoy, which is based on Cambridge Road and led by Simon Brake, took three pick up trucks, nine drivers, and one ambulance on a 1245-mile cross-country journey to Lviv in the west of Ukraine, 50 miles from the Polish border on Monday.

As part of this mission, the ambulance also carried 10 wheelchairs for a Lviv Titans, a wheelchair basketball club.

The wheelchairs were funded by a European donor.

Mighty Convoy is a non-profit founded by four friends to raise funds to buy second-hand ambulances and 4x4 pick-up trucks, load them with aid and drive them to Ukraine.

Since its first convoy in August 2022, the non-for-profit has taken 102 vehicles to Ukraine.

However, it says that it needs donations to help fund its future missions, and so it launched a fundraising page in April.

Mighty Convoy has already raised £82,476 of its £100k target.
