The Lensbury, the well-known riverside resort in Teddington, has announced a £10 million refurbishment programme aimed at enhancing its facilities while celebrating its long-standing sporting heritage.

The resort, which has hosted elite teams including England's Lionesses and Red Roses, Chelsea FC, Manchester United, and international rugby sides from England, South Africa and New Zealand, says the investment will reinforce its status as a world-class sports and leisure destination.

The refurbishment will focus on key guest and member areas, with a complete renovation of the Club House restaurant, reception and Club House bedrooms.

New interiors will blend modern design with nods to The Lensbury's rich sporting history, creating refreshed spaces for hotel guests, sports teams and club members alike.

When will the work take place?

The transformation is set to begin next month in February, starting with the Club House restaurant and reception.

Guestroom refurbishments will follow in early spring, with food and beverage upgrades completed by late spring.

The full programme is expected to conclude in late summer 2026, with the unveiling of the newly refurbished bedrooms.

Importantly for visitors and members, The Lensbury will remain fully open throughout the works, continuing to host meetings, events and sporting activity as normal.
