An independent menswear boutique in Teddington is turning 15 next month.

Studio 148, which is located on High Street, will celebrate its 15th birthday on 5 November.

Behind every independent boutique is a person with a vision, a passion and a story to tell.

At Studio148 Menswear, that person is Nita — owner, buyer and stylist, whose love of fashion and individuality has shaped the boutique's identity over the past 15 years.

With a professional background in art and many years of experience in the fashion industry, she brings a creative eye and a personal approach to everything she does.

Her journey into menswear was a natural extension of her passion for style, design and helping people express themselves through what they wear.

Speaking about the milestone, Nita told Nub News:"Since opening Studio148 in 2011, I have been the driving force behind the boutique, personally selecting collections, discovering brands and choosing pieces that reflect my vision of contemporary menswear. As the buyer, I look beyond trends, searching for distinctive designs, quality and individuality — clothing that offers customers something different from the usual High Street selection."

She continued: "As a stylist, my belief is that fashion is about more than simply wearing the latest trends. It is about understanding a person's personality, finding the right fit and helping them feel confident in their own style.

"I enjoy helping customers put together looks that feel authentic to them, whether they are shopping for everyday essentials, a special occasion or something a little more distinctive.

"For me, running Studio148 has always been about creating a welcoming, personal shopping experience.

"As an independent boutique owner, I value the relationships built with customers over the years and believe that personal service, genuine advice and attention to detail are what make independent retail special.

"15 years on, I continue to bring the same creativity, enthusiasm and commitment to Studio148.

"While the fashion industry and retail landscape have changed considerably since 2011, my vision remains the same: to offer distinctive menswear, champion individual style and give customers a reason to keep returning to their local independent boutique."

Sharma explained that "fashion has always been a passion" of hers, and that Studio148 has given her "the opportunity to bring together her creativity, experience in the industry and love of styling.

She added: "As the owner, buyer and stylist, I put a great deal of thought into every collection we offer. I want our customers to find pieces they love, feel confident wearing them and enjoy an experience that is personal to them.

"Reaching 15 years in Teddington is incredibly special. Independent retail comes with its challenges, but the loyalty of our customers and the support of the local community make the journey worthwhile.

"Studio148 is much more than a shop to me — it is something I have built with passion, and I am proud to be part of Teddington High Street."

As Studio148 celebrates its 15th anniversary on 5 November 2026, Nita said she is "looking forward to thanking the customers who have supported the boutique throughout its journey".

To mark the occasion, customers will be offered 15 per cent off in-store purchases for the day, which Nita said is "a small gesture of appreciation for the community that has helped make Studio148 part of Teddington's independent retail story".
