Football championship rivals book The Lensbury for pre-season training

Both Portsmouth and Southampton's football clubs were reported to have been doing their pre-season training at The Lensbury in Teddington last week rather than their home training grounds.
Portsmouth's club, Pompey, began their pre-season training last Tuesday (24 June) at The Lensbury's 25-acre location rather than at its home grounds Hilsea.
This is because Hilsea's training pitches underwent drainage work during the close season, and with Pompey returning earlier this summer, it was decided to allow more time for the playing surface to bed in.
John Moushino's men trained at The Lensbury for three days and are returning to their home grounds today (Wednesday, 2 July).
However, Pompey's rivals, Southampton, also checked in to The Lensbury for a week-long stay the day after Pompey vacated the venue, subsequently posting photos and video footage of themselves through official club media channels using The Lensbury's facilities.
