Comedy game show WiFi Wars – Sunday, 12 May
Landmarks Arts Centre is hosting WiFi Wars, a live comedy game show where the whole audience plays along!
PArticipants just need to log in from their smartphone or tablet and compete in a range of games, puzzles and quizzes to win the show (and prizes of course).
Hosted by comedian Steve McNeil (team captain on hit comedy/gaming show Dara O'Briain's Go 8 Bit) and aided by Guinness World-Record-Breaking tech whizz, the award-winning Rob Sedgebeer.
Seperate 6+ and 12+ age groups are being run this weekend. Family tickets are also available.
The Market Porters Trio at The Wharf – Sunday, 12 May
Teddington's iconic jazz venue, The Wharf, is hosting The Market Porters Trio this weekend.
Mike Stephens is a Professional pianist, arranger, composer and producer, with many years experience working in pop, jazz and classical genres. He has worked with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Royal and London Philharmonic Orchestras and has performed at many of the UK's top venues including the Royal Albert hall, Wales Millenium centre, Barbican, Ronnie Scotts, and Air Studios.
Mike has also worked as music director for a number of UK stage productions of West Side Story, Oliver, Cats, Joseph etc, and is currently working as principal orchestral arranger for several of the world's top touring shows.
With Megan on vocals and Matt on bass, Market Porters bring together an eclectic array of old and new songs from all genres performed in their own jazzy style.
The show starts at 1:30pm – perfect for a relaxed Sunday lunch.
Rose Opera presents Tosca by G. Puccini – starts Saturday, 11 May
Rose Opera says they are delighted to present Puccini's timeless masterpiece, Tosca, in 2024, a story of passion and jealousy, fight for freedom and sacrifice.
Tosca is an opera diva who is in love with painter Mario Cavaradossi. The two lovers' lives are in danger as they are trying to flee Rome, away from the tyrannical villain, Scarpia.
Join Rose Opera for an unforgettable evening of glorious music at the beautiful Victorian Normansfield Theatre in Teddington, just a mile from Hampton Court Palace.
Four performances will take place between 11 May and 19 May, the first of which will be at 7pm on Saturday.
Guy Shoham's solo show 'POST' – Saturday, 11 May
RuptureXIBIT is excited to welcome back Rupture allum Guy Shoham with his solo show 'POST'.
Shoham says the show uses the humble Post-it note to bring new context to his previous work.
The artist says: "Post-it notes as a way of reminding myself of events from the past years, unresolved issues and unfinished business.
"It became a way to reflect on the past and understand how my choices brought me to where I am."
The show's opening event starts at 7pm on Saturday at RuptureXIBIT. The work will be shown in the gallery until 12 May.
