Art & Music Jamming with Acrylics

Thursday 29 August, Landmark Arts Centre, 10am-1pm

Image supplied

Open to all adults – no experience required.

Wassily Kandinsky wrote, "Colour is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings… The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key then another to cause vibration of the soul."

In this 1-day workshop, we will use the concept of visualizing music language and apply it on a canvas. Students will learn how to use visual elements to express their views/feelings in producing their artwork while listening to pieces of selected music. A time for relaxing thoughts, and for creating your own masterpiece of work.

Materials Provided: Acrylic paint, A3 size canvas, A3 drawing paper, colour mixing plate, brushes

Materials Required: Pencil, eraser

Tutor: Fan Wong, (PhD), studied Fine Art, Visual Culture and Art Education in the UK and HK, and loves sharing art knowledge.

Course Fee: £45

Times: 10am - 1pm

Disco Soul at Teddington

Friday 30 August, Teddington Constitutional Club

Image supplied

If you love 70's disco and soul music (and perhaps some 60's Motown too), you really must come along to Teddington Constitutional Club. You'll find DJ's "Disco Sue" and "Markus" playing the best vinyl records to a great bunch of party people. Put on your boogie shoes, sprinkle on the disco glitter and strut your funky stuff (dressing up is not compulsory but strongly encouraged!) - or just sit with a reasonably-priced drink and and enjoy the great music and atmosphere.

No attitudes. Groups welcome (if you're celebrating something, let us know and we can make space for you)!

£5 cash on the door (£4 for TCC members). Good public transport links. Easy parking.
