Burns Night at The Anglers

Friday 24 January and Saturday 25 January, The Anglers.

To celebrate the life and poetry of Robert Burns, The Anglers at Teddington Lock is launching a special Burns Night menu for Friday 24 January and Saturday 25 January.

Diners on these nights can enjoy a fixed-price menu featuring traditional Scottish dishes such as Cullen Skink, Haggis with neeps & tatties, and Cranachan.

Vegetarian and plant-based options are also available, including Veggie Haggis Scotch Eggs, and Braised Venison Faggots.

The fixed-price menu offers two courses for £35 and three courses for £40 and anyone who prebooks a table will receive a complimentary dram of whisky to toast the occasion.

Burns Night at The Wharf

Saturday 25 January, The Wharf, Teddington.

At the event, guests can have a three-course Scottish meal for £55 per person.

There will also be live music all night, and plenty of reel dancing with a full band, caller, and a DJ.

Nix Academy Tiny and Mini Stage Stars Programme

Saturday 25 January, Hampton Wick Infants, 9.30am - 12.45pm.

Nix is offering 10 free places for its new Tiny and Mini Stage Stars programmes this Saturday, 25 January.

Why take part? Research shows that introducing children to performing arts during their early years (ages 3-7) can significantly boost their confidence, creativity, and social skills.

 During these formative years, children are naturally imaginative and receptive to new experiences, making it the ideal time to explore movement, music, and creative expression.

"Two Fun Programmes Designed for Young Performers 

The free taster sessions are tailored specifically for two age groups:

Tiny Stage Stars (Ages 3-5, Nursery and Reception)

  • A 105-minute magical adventure from 9:30-11:15 AM
  • Gentle introduction to ballet, jazz, musical theatre, and aerial arts
  • Development of coordination, listening skills, and creative expression
  • Small class sizes ensuring personal attention
  • Expert teachers trained in early years development

Mini Stage Stars (Years 1-2)

  • Two-hour comprehensive session from 10:45-12:45 PM
  • Exploration of ballet, jazz, tap, musical theatre, and aerial arts
  • Focus on building confidence and performance skills
  • Development of teamwork and social skills
  • Age-appropriate choreography and activities

 Day two: Take your skills to the next level, focusing on plate painting and the principles of design in Iznik ceramics.
