Local riverside restaurant The Wharf is hosting its spring jazz festival in Teddington this weekend, featuring an international (and local) cast of jazz musicians.

Several of the performers are Soho veterans, playing at iconic venues like Ronnie Scott's and Crazy Coqs.

"We're bringing central London to Teddington," says The Wharf's owner Barbara Radseresht, adding: "Why get a train into town when it's all right here?"

The restaurant and music venue has also shared its plans to spread "some Jazz Festival good time vibes through the neighbourhood," with a procession from The Capital Blue Jazz Roaming Band down Teddington's High Street.

The festival begins at 11am on Saturday with The Capital Blue Jazz Roaming Band's procession down High Street to The Wharf. The last act, The Cosimo Matassa Project, starts at 9pm.

Twice a year – in Spring and Autumn – the Landmark Art Centre hosts its iconic art fairs, providing individual artists a unique setting to exhibit and sell their work directly to the public.

No galleries, no dealers, just the artists themselves with a stunning array of painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, printmaking, ceramics and more.

Visitors can browse from an array of over 75 stands with artists from the local area and beyond, from watercolour paintings to textural ceramic sculptures.

The fair runs from 4pm to 8:300pm on Friday, and from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Adult tickets cost £5.

Ham Open Gardens – Sunday, 19 May

Release your inner nosey neighbour at this year's Ham Open Gardens.

With over 20 gardens in the area to admire, you'll be kept busy all Sunday and be supporting local charities with your ticket purchase:

  • Home-Start UK – a local community network supporting young families
  • Ham and Petersham SOS – a neighbourhood care group for older and vulnerable local residents
  • Ham and Petersham Association and Amenities Group – organisers of local events like this

The event's organisers describe the day as "an irresistible chance to explore some of Ham's most exquisite private gardens".

Early-bird tickets are £10, or £15 on the day either online or on Ham Common. Accompanied children under 16 go free.
