Teddington house could be demolished to make way for new home

A single-storey house in Teddington could be demolished and replaced with a two-storey house.
Developer new methods is seeking seeking permission to build a "Detached two-storey house with rooms in the roof space, dormer windows, rear Juliette balcony, following demolition of the existing house" at 9 Melbourne Road.
The proposal seeks planning permission for:
- Demolition of the existing dwelling
- Construction of one replacement detached family dwelling
- Associated landscaping
- Parking
- Access works
And the proposed dwelling has a Gross Internal Area of 231.20m².
The development therefore falls within the Council's definition of a Small Site, being capable of delivering fewer than ten dwellings.
new methods says the affordable housing obligation has been calculated using the Council's adopted Affordable Housing Commuted Sum Calculator.
It said that the Affordable Housing Contribution for this development will be £56,595.
New methods added: "The Applicant acknowledges that this figure has been derived using the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames' adopted Affordable Housing Commuted Sum Calculator and accepts that the final contribution will be agreed with the Local Planning Authority and secured through the appropriate legal agreement, if required."
Richmond Council expects to make a decision on this application by 1 September.
