The Richmond Transport Strategy 2040, which is a new plan setting out how people will move around the borough in the years ahead, has been released.

According to Richmond Council, the strategy outlines how it can make travel safer, easier and more reliable for residents, visitors and businesses, while supporting growth, improving the local environment and protecting the character of our area.

It focuses on topics including:

• Investment and infrastructure stewardship
• Urban quality, safety and environment
• Sustainable mobility and public transport
• Accessibility and inclusion
• Growth and development
• Regional and strategic connectivity
• Delivery, funding and monitoring

Within the next two years, the strategy will be followed by numerous sub-strategies focusing on these key topics.
