Bikini-clad sunbathers, paddle boarders and swimmers turned a short stretch of the River Thames near The Anglers Pub into Teddington-on-Sea.

Towels were strewn on the short stretch of beach opposite the as youngsters swam and sunbathed on the wooden pontoon near the pub.

Lunchtime temperatures simmered at 32 degrees as it was predicted to be the hottest day of the year following the earlier heatwave back in May when the area around Teddington Lock looked like a holiday resort.

Bushy Park was also busy with cyclists and family picnics as the lockdown eases. The toilets near the playground at the Hampton Court end of the park are open and the loos at The Pheasantry cafe are expected to be opened shortly.
