Seven events coming up in Teddington this month

With a second Bank Holiday weekend and Half Term coming up this month (May), you may be looking for things to do.
So here are seven events taking place in Teddington this month, including a public forum of the future of transportation, a park parade, exclusive garden tour, and markets.
Thursday 8 May : Consultation on Transport Strategy for the next 15 years

On Thursday, 8 May, Richmond Council will present its Transport Strategy 2040 and give residents the opportunity to discuss ideas with councillors and project team members at York House in Twickenham from 6pm to 8pm.
Residents, workers, and students across the borough are invited to attend a public forum on Thursday to have their say on the borough's long-term transport plans.
The Transport Strategy 2040 sets out its vision for a more sustainable, inclusive, and accessible transport network over the next 15 years.
So far, more than 1,550 people have taken part in the consultation by contributing to an interactive map and completing a public survey.
Cllr Alexander Ehmann, Chair of the Transport and Air Quality Services Committee, said:
"Richmond Council has always believed that we need to plan for the long-term to make this borough more connected and more prosperous.
"Your ideas and priorities really can help us to shape the borough's future as a more accessible, clean and connected place."
The strategy focuses on several key priorities, including:
- Improving connectivity and accessibility
- Increasing public transport reliability
- Supporting walking and cycling
- Reducing emissions and improving air quality

Saturday, 10 May: Ted's Market

Ted's Market is returning this Saturday, 10 May.
At this Saturday's market, there will be two new traders Jinger Drinks and Loch Stock & Two Smoking Barrels along with regular traders Henderson's Fishmongers, Pick's Organic Farm, Local Hero Coffee, Swiss Bread Bakers, Bakewicks, The French Compte, Wild Country Organics, Ieva's Soups, Big Mum's Samosas, Chickpea Granola, and Three Olive Tree.
Ted's Market runs from 10am – 2pm in the car park of The King's Head on the second and last Saturday of each month.
Sunday 11 May: Chestnut Sunday

The annual Chestnut Sunday is returning to Bushy Park this Sunday (11 May) with a parade starting at 12.30pm from Chestnut Avenue (Teddington Gate), leading to the main event area near the children's playground.
Event highlights include:
- Family Activities – Pony rides, classic games, and nature-themed fun.
- Explore Bushy Park – Discover the park's rich wildlife and history through interactive displays.
- Arena Show – Horse riding demonstrations from the Horse Rangers.
- Live Music – Performances by the Yeomanry Concert Band, Rock Choir, and Surbiton Marching Band.
- D-Day Exhibit – Special displays commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE-Day.
- Local Charities & Community Groups – Meet and support fantastic local initiatives.
- Food & Drink – A wide variety of food options, including pizzas, ice cream, and coffee.
Friday, 16 May - 18 Sunday: The Spring Art Fair at the Landmark Arts Centre

The Landmark Arts Centre's Spring Art Fair is running from Friday, 16 May – Sunday, 18 May.
The fair will begin with an opening night on the Friday from 4pm – 8.30pm, and will run from 10am – 5pm on the Saturday and Sunday.
At the fair, over 70 hand-picked artists will offer everything from painting and sculptures to ceramics, to photographs, printmaking, and more.
This event describes itself as "a rare chance to meet the artists and hear stories about their art and take home something original and affordable".
The café will be open throughout the weekend, serving cakes, light lunches, and hot drinks.
Sunday 18 May: Teddington in Flower 2025

This year's annual Teddington in Flower is returning on Sunday, 18 May.
The charity event will include visits to 12 very different gardens from 2pm to 6pm.
The Teddington Society's fund raiser will include teas served from 2.30 to 4.30 pm.
The handbell ringers will perform at 3pm and again at 4pm at St Mary's Parish Hall on Langham Road.
Teas will be served at St Alban church on Ferry Road from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
You can also browse the plant sale stand in the Landmark Art Centre gardens.
Ticket proceeds will help raise funds for local charities and good causes.
Ticket prices include:
- Advance tickets £8 (children under 16 free) via Ticketsource
- On the day £10 at the Landmark Arts Centre gardens (on sale from 1.30pm)
- Your ticket gives you entry to all the gardens (12+)

Except from assistance dogs, no dogs are permitted in the gardens.
Friday, 23 May: Teddington Station lifts and Teddington Lock official openings

On Friday, 23 May, there will be an official opening of the new lifts at Teddington Station and refurbished footbridge at Teddington Lock, which is part of the Department for Transport's "Access for All" scheme.
Saturday, 31 May: Ted's Market

The second Ted's Market of this month will run from 10am – 2pm in the car park of The King's Head pub on Saturday, 31 May.
The new list of traders will be published closer to the event.
