British actor, writer and entertainer, Paterson Joseph presents Sancho & Me - For One Night Only, live at The Exchange, Twickenham 18-19 January.

Joseph is best known for his roles in popular TV shows and movies such as Wonka, Vigil and Peep Show as well as his broad stage repertoire.

This solo performance is part-improvised each night and built around his award-winning novel 'The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho', so every show is unique.

Joseph explores ideas of belonging, language, education, love and slavery and where these themes intersect with his own story of being Black and British.

Charles Ignatius Sancho was born on a slave ship on the Atlantic Ocean in 1729, yet he rose to become a writer, composer, shopkeeper, and respected 'man of letters' in 18th century London.

As well as the first documented Black Briton to vote. This project has been developed with the help of Strawberry Hill Enterprises at St Mary's University, Twickenham.

The performance will start at 7:30 pm and tickets are priced at £15, concessions tickets are also available.

Copies of 'The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho' by Paterson Joseph will be available for purchase after the performance, with the opportunity to get your copy signed by the author.
