Richmond Council have extended their congratulations to students in Richmond upon Thames who received their GCSE results yesterday, 22 August.

This year's GCSE results reflect the continued hard work and dedication of students across the borough, including those in Teddington, with local performance remaining strong in most subjects.

However, not everyone will have achieved the results they wanted, so Richmond Council are offering support to students in the borough.

The council says it remains committed  to supporting students during this transition period.

For those feeling stressed or anxious about their results, Richmond encourages young people to access the free, safe, and anonymous online support available at Kooth.

For students who did not receive the grades they hoped for, the council offers support through Achieving for Children via the Summer Support helpline.

Councillor Penny Frost, Chair of the Education and Children's Services Committee, said: "Well done to all the students who collected their GCSE results today.

The resilience and hard work demonstrated over the past few years have truly paid off. The results we see today reflect the dedication of our young people, their teachers and the support of their families."

She continued: "While this year's results may not have been what some hoped for, it's important to recognise the extraordinary efforts made under tough conditions.

"Every student should be proud of their accomplishments, and I encourage them to look ahead to the next steps in their journey."

Richmond Council Leader, Gareth Roberts said: "Results day, at any level, is always a day of mixed emotions. Obviously, I hope everybody got the results they hoped for, but whatever the outcome it is important to remember this is just a moment in time.

"There'll be plenty of other challenges and, more importantly, plenty of other opportunities in the years ahead."

He continued: "And to all the support networks, the teachers and tutors, parents, grandparents, families and friends, your support has been, and will continue to be, prized beyond measure. Thank you."
