PRINCE William and Kate will be in Twickenham tomorrow to watch England take on Wales in the Six Nations.

The Duchess of Cambridge - newly appointed as the patron of English rugby - will be cheering on the men in white, while her husband will be backing Wales.

It is the first time that the famously competitive couple have gone head to head in the stands as the two teams take to the pitch.

In the past, the pair have battled each other in everything from dragon boating to wind buggy racing at royal engagements.

Prince George has previously cheered on England on the football pitch, but it is not clear which side of the rugby divide he and siblings Charlotte and Louis will sit.

Earlier this month, Kate met players from both the England men's and women's teams after replacing Prince Harry in the post.

The Duchess has been named as a figurehead and champion for both the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League.

Speaking at the time, she said: "I am so thrilled to become patron. Two fantastic organisations who are committed to harnessing the power that sport can have in bringing communities together and helping individuals flourish.

"I look forward to working with them across all levels of the games, and to cheering England on in what promises to be an exciting year for both sports!"

The RFU posted video on social media featuring Kate throwing a rugby ball to a series of players - including England team members Harry Newman, Jodie Cunningham and Maro Itoje.

The organisation's chief executive, Bill Sweeney, said: "We know the support of the duchess will be greatly valued."
