Detectives are investigating an incident in which a man was seen to expose himself to women in a park in Richmond.

Police were called by Patrol Officers after being made aware of the incident at 17:38hrs on Thursday, 28 May.

It was reported that the man had been in Ham Nature Reserve between 15:00hrs and 17:00hrs.

He is said to have been completely naked and exposed himself to a number of passing women and young girls, as well as touch himself inappropriately.

He was detained, and then ordered to get dressed and leave by park wardens before the allegations had been brought to their attention.

The man is described as white and aged in his late 60s or 70s and wore glasses. He left on a dark coloured mountain bike, wearing Vans shoes and blue shorts.

There have been no arrests.

Detective Constable Chris Biddle, South West Command Unit, is investigating. He said: "This is a shocking incident that is likely to have caused considerable distress to a number of women and teenagers using the park that afternoon.

"I've been made aware of two males who were in the park at the time and stated to another member of the public that they had seen the whole incident.

"Speaking with these two males will provide valuable information for this investigation and I urge them to contact us.

"I would also like to hear from any victims who may have been approached by this man, or any witnesses who can assist our enquiries. Please contact us immediately."

Anyone with information should contact the South West Command Unit via 101, quoting CAD 6419/28 MAY.
